In this sermon, we explored the letter to the Church in Smyrna from Revelation 2:8-11, focusing on the theme of persecution and faithfulness. Despite losing their possessions and facing death, the believers in Smyrna remained steadfast, exemplified by the martyrdom of Polycarp. Jesus' letter to Smyrna contained no criticism, only commendation and encouragement to remain faithful even unto death, promising them the "crown of life" and protection from the "second death."
