Greatness Measured by the Towel, Not the Throne

Greatness Measured by the Towel, Not the Throne

In a world that celebrates self-importance and despises servanthood, Jesus redefined greatness. He took the form of a servant, washing feet, embracing obscurity, and doing the work no one else wanted to do. The King of the universe stooped low, showing us that no act of service is beneath us.
True greatness in God’s kingdom is not about how many people serve us, but about how willingly we serve others. When we follow Jesus’ example, we find joy and purpose in meeting the needs of those around us, even in the smallest and most hidden ways.

Mark 10:43-45 (KJV): “But so shall it not be among you: but whosoever will be great among you, shall be your minister: And whosoever of you will be the chiefest, shall be servant of all. For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.”

Reflection: Who is someone in your life you can serve in a practical, humble way today—especially if it’s a task that might go unnoticed?
