Joy Grows as We Pour Ourselves Out for Others

Paul’s life is a powerful example of finding joy not in self-preservation or recognition, but in being poured out for the sake of others and for Christ’s glory. He described his life as a drink offering, gladly spent for the faith of others. This kind of humble service may go unnoticed by the world, but it is precious in God’s sight.
True joy is found when we let go of our need for applause or comfort and instead give ourselves away in love. When we serve others, encourage them, and put their needs before our own, we become invisible so that Christ becomes visible. In this way, our lives become a living sacrifice, and we discover a joy that is deeper and more lasting than anything the world can offer.

2 Timothy 4:6-8 (KJV): “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing.”

Reflection: Who is someone you can serve or encourage today, even if it costs you time or comfort? Ask God to help you find joy in being poured out for others.
