The Cross: God’s Love in Action, Not Just Words
The Cross: God’s Love in Action, Not Just Words
God’s love is not just a warm feeling or a distant promise. He proved His love by giving what was most precious- His only Son. The cross is the ultimate evidence that God’s love is active, costly, and sacrificial. When doubts creep in about your worth or God’s care, you need only look to Jesus’ sacrifice to see how far God was willing to go for you.
This kind of love is not passive or theoretical. It moves toward us, even when we are at our worst. God did not wait for us to clean ourselves up or become deserving. He took the initiative, stepping into our brokenness and pain. The cross stands as a permanent reminder that God’s love is not just spoken, but demonstrated in the most powerful way possible.
Romans 5:8 (KJV): “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”
Reflection: When you think about Jesus’ sacrifice, what doubts or fears about your worth begin to fade? How can you remind yourself today that God’s love is proven, not just promised?
