Life Speaks Before Birth, Because God Does
Life Speaks Before Birth, Because God Does
When Mary greeted Elizabeth, John leaped in the womb. Scripture does not draw a line between the unborn and the born when it comes to dignity; it uses the same word for the child in the womb and the child in arms. Life begins at conception. It is precious, known, and addressed by God Himself.
Let God’s Word shape your convictions and your compassion. Hold both truth and tenderness. Stand for the smallest and most vulnerable, and also stand with those who carry heavy stories. Honor life with your voice and your hands, through prayer, presence, and practical help.
Luke 1:41-44 (KJV): “And it came to pass, that, when Elisabeth heard the salutation of Mary, the babe leaped in her womb; and Elisabeth was filled with the Holy Ghost: And she spake out with a loud voice, and said, Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb. And whence is this to me, that the mother of my Lord should come to me? For, lo, as soon as the voice of thy salutation sounded in mine ears, the babe leaped in my womb for joy.”
Reflection: What is one practical, compassionate action you can take this week to honor vulnerable life; write a note to an expectant mom, deliver a meal, or commit to pray daily for a child by name? Decide now and set a time today.
