True Greatness Through Humility 2/2

True Greatness Through Humility

It is natural to associate greatness with worldly success, fame, or power. Yet, the Scriptures present a different measure of greatness, one rooted in humility and a willingness to diminish oneself for a higher purpose. John the Baptist, whom Jesus Himself called the greatest among those born of women, exemplified this profound truth. His life teaches us that true significance in God's eyes is found not in self-promotion, but in a humble posture that elevates Christ above all else. This counter-cultural understanding invites us to re-evaluate our own aspirations and consider what truly pleases God.
Luke 7:28 (KJV): “For I say unto you, Among those that are born of women there is not a greater prophet than John the Baptist: but he that is least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.”
Reflection: When you consider what it means to be "great," what worldly metrics often come to mind, and how might God be inviting you to redefine greatness through a lens of humility?
