Honest Self-Examination Leads to Spiritual Reality
Honest Self-Examination Leads to Spiritual Reality
Jesus calls us not to assume, but to examine our hearts. It’s easy to rest in religious activity, family heritage, or emotional experiences, but none of these guarantee a real relationship with Him. The most loving thing we can do is to be honest before God, asking ourselves hard questions about the reality of our faith, the evidence of repentance, and the fruit in our lives.
Self-examination is not about self-condemnation, but about opening ourselves to God’s truth and grace. If we find ourselves on the wrong road, Jesus invites us to run to Him for real, life-changing salvation. This is a daily practice, coming before God with humility, asking Him to search our hearts, and responding to His loving call.
2 Corinthians 13:5 (KJV): “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?”
Reflection: Take a quiet moment today to ask God to search your heart. Is there any area where you need to move from assumption to honest surrender? What step can you take to respond to His invitation?
