Living with Eternity Stamped on Our Hearts

Living with Eternity Stamped on Our Hearts

To be a citizen of heaven means that our primary allegiance is to God’s kingdom, not to the fleeting values and comforts of this world. Paul urges believers to let the hope of Christ’s return shape every aspect of their lives. This heavenly perspective calls us to resist the pull of earthly appetites and to let our future with Christ inform how we love, serve, and endure in the present.

It is easy to get caught up in the concerns and distractions of daily life, but God invites us to lift our eyes and remember where our true home lies. When eternity is stamped on our hearts, our choices, relationships, and priorities begin to reflect the reality that we belong to Christ. The question is not just whether we are present in church, but whether our lives are truly anchored in Him.

Psalm 141:8-10 (KJV): “But mine eyes are unto thee, O God the Lord: in thee is my trust; leave not my soul destitute. Keep me from the snares which they have laid for me, and the gins of the workers of iniquity. Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal escape.”

Reflection: In what area of your life are you most tempted to seek comfort or security in earthly things? What would it look like to let your hope in Christ’s return shape your choices this week?
