Investing in Eternity: Pursuing What Lasts Beyond This Life

Investing in Eternity: Pursuing What Lasts Beyond This Life

The impact of our generosity and service goes far beyond what we can see in this life. The Philippians’ support of Paul produced fruit that continues to this day, as their gifts helped spread the gospel and shape the early church. Our investments in God’s kingdom, through giving, serving, and loving others, have eternal significance that outlasts any earthly possession.

We are invited to evaluate our “spiritual investment strategy” and consider what kind of legacy we are building. The true measure of our wealth is not what we keep, but what we give away for the sake of Christ. When we invest in people, in the gospel, and in acts of love, we are storing up treasures in heaven that will echo into eternity. Let us pursue returns that last forever, trusting that God will multiply what we offer for His glory.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (KJV): “Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy; That they do good, that they be rich in good works, ready to distribute, willing to communicate; Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.”

Reflection:
What is one way you can invest in God’s kingdom this week, through your time, resources, or relationships, that will have an impact beyond your own life?
