The Subtle Drift of Compromise

The Subtle Drift of Compromise

In the city of Pergamos, the church faced the challenge of maintaining their faith amidst a culture steeped in pagan practices and immorality. The believers were initially strong, holding fast to their convictions despite the surrounding darkness. However, small compromises began to creep in, leading them away from their core beliefs. This serves as a powerful reminder that compromise often starts with minor decisions that seem harmless but can have significant spiritual consequences. As followers of Christ, we must remain vigilant, guarding our hearts and minds against the subtle drift that can lead us away from our faith.

James 4:4 (KJV): "Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God."

Reflection: What small compromises have you made in your life that might be leading you away from your core beliefs? How can you take steps today to realign with your faith?
