Preparing for the King and His Coming Kingdom
Preparing for the King and His Coming Kingdom
Prophecy is not mere fortune-telling, but God's declaration of a future He already rules over, inviting us to prepare and participate. Just as a ship's captain steers it to its intended port despite the passengers' choices, God is guiding human history to His desired destination. The Kingdom of God, unveiled through John's birth, promises a future free from sin, enemies, fear, and death. Our lives in this world are an assignment, a preparation for that eternal citizenship, calling us to build "Kingdom down" by repentance and surrender, ready for the King's return.
Luke 1:77-79 (KJV): “To give knowledge of salvation unto his people by the remission of their sins, Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us, To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Reflection: Considering that your life is a preparation for standing before the King, what is one concrete step of repentance or surrender you can take today to align your heart more fully with His coming Kingdom?
