No Justification for Sin
No Justification for Sin
The church in Pergamos was commended for their faithfulness, yet they were also criticized for allowing sin to infiltrate their community. This highlights a crucial truth: there is never an excuse for sin, even when life is difficult. Hardships, persecution, or personal struggles do not grant us permission to compromise our faith or engage in sinful behavior. Our commitment to Christ calls us to uphold our convictions, regardless of the circumstances. We are called to live lives of holiness, reflecting the character of Christ in all we do.
James 1:14-15 (KJV): "But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death."
Reflection: Are there areas in your life where you have been justifying sin due to difficult circumstances? How can you seek God's strength to uphold your convictions today?
