The Danger of Routine
Day 3: The Danger of Routine
When spiritual practices become routine, they lose their meaning and purpose. Christianity is not meant to be a checklist of duties but a vibrant relationship with God. When we reduce our faith to mere rituals, we risk losing our passion and joy. Our spiritual disciplines should be approached with intentionality and delight, as opportunities to encounter God and grow in our love for Him. We are invited to engage in our faith with a sense of wonder and expectation, allowing our relationship with God to infuse every aspect of our lives with purpose and meaning.
Isaiah 29:13 (KJV): "Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near me with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:"
Reflection: Are there spiritual practices in your life that have become routine? How can you approach them with renewed intentionality and joy this week?
