Resting in Christ’s Righteousness, Not Our Own

Resting in Christ’s Righteousness, Not Our Own

Justification is the end of striving to earn God’s approval. No matter how impressive our spiritual resume or how shameful our past, we cannot make ourselves right with God through our own efforts. The good news is that Jesus has already accomplished everything needed for our salvation. When we trust in Him, His righteousness is credited to us, and we are set free from the exhausting cycle of pride and despair that comes from trying to measure up.
This truth invites us to rest; not in what we have done, but in what Christ has done for us. We are no longer defined by our failures or our achievements. Instead, we are invited to live each day in the freedom and security of being fully accepted by God because of Jesus. This is the foundation of our faith and the starting point for a life of true transformation.

Romans 3:20-22 (KJV): “Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight: for by the law is the knowledge of sin. But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference:”

Reflection: Where in your life do you still feel pressure to prove yourself to God or others? How can you intentionally rest in Christ’s finished work today?
