Obedience Reveals the Strength of Your Foundation

Obedience Reveals the Strength of Your Foundation

Both the wise and foolish builders heard Jesus’ words, but only the wise put them into practice. Life’s storms; trials, temptations, and disappointments will come to everyone. These storms reveal what our lives are truly built on. If our foundation is Christ, we may be shaken, but we will stand firm. If our foundation is anything else, the collapse is total.

Obedience is not optional for followers of Jesus; it is the evidence that we are building our lives on the Rock. It’s not enough to simply hear or know God’s Word—we must put it into action. When we obey, even in small things, we show that our trust is real and our foundation is secure.

Matthew 7:24-25 (KJV): “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Reflection: What is one area where God is calling you to obey Him today, even if it’s difficult? How might this act of obedience strengthen your foundation in Christ?
