True Wealth Lies in Spiritual Riches

True Wealth Lies in Spiritual Riches

In the affluent city of Laodicea, the church was materially wealthy but spiritually impoverished. This serves as a powerful reminder that true wealth is not measured by our possessions or status but by our relationship with Christ. Material wealth can often lead to a false sense of security and self-sufficiency, overshadowing our need for spiritual growth and dependence on God. As believers, we are called to evaluate our lives and ensure that our pursuit of comfort and luxury does not take precedence over our spiritual journey. True riches are found in a deep, abiding relationship with Jesus, who offers eternal treasures that far surpass any earthly wealth.

Revelation 3:17-18 (KJV): " Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see."

Reflection: In what ways have you allowed material wealth or comfort to overshadow your spiritual growth? How can you refocus on cultivating a deeper relationship with Christ today?
