Remembering God’s Nearness in the Dark
Remembering God’s Nearness in the Dark
The promise that “the Lord is near” is more than a comforting thought—it’s a reality that transforms how we walk through darkness. When fear or loneliness creeps in, remembering that Jesus is closer than your next breath can turn anxiety into peace. You are never alone, even when circumstances make you feel isolated or overwhelmed.
Practicing the presence of God is a discipline that changes your experience of uncertainty and pain. When you remind yourself of His nearness, the darkness loses its grip. God’s presence is not just a theological truth to believe, but a practical comfort to experience in every moment.
Psalm 34:18-19 (KJV): “The Lord is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
Reflection:
When was the last time you felt truly alone or overwhelmed? What would it look like to pause and acknowledge God’s nearness in that moment? Try practicing this today when you feel anxious or afraid.
