Love’s Billboard on a Hill 6/9

 Love’s Billboard on a Hill

The greatest evidence of God’s love is not found in our comfortable circumstances. It is found on a hill called Calvary. Romans 5:8 says God demonstrated His own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Jesus did not wait for us to get our lives together. He entered our brokenness and died for us at our worst.

The cross is God’s ultimate proof. Every nail, every wound, and every drop of blood declares His love for you. This love is not based on your goodness but on His character. He did not merely say He loved you; He showed you in the most concrete way possible. The cross is a historical event that forever settles the question of God’s heart toward you.

We often measure God’s love by our present comfort. If life is good, we feel loved. If life is hard, we question His care. But God calls you to anchor your heart to the cross, not your current situation. His love was proven once for all in the past, so you can trust it in your present. Where are you looking for proof of God’s love today?

Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.”

Prayer: Thank Jesus specifically for dying for you while you were still stuck in your sin.

Challenge: Write down one current struggle and next to it write, “But the cross proves God loves me.”
