Chosen by an Adoptive Father 4/22
Chosen by an Adoptive Father
Luke says everyone thought Jesus was Joseph’s son. But that was not the whole story. Jesus was born to a virgin. He was a miracle. Joseph was not His biological father. Joseph was a carpenter. He chose to adopt Jesus. He loved Jesus as his own son. In that culture, unwanted children were abandoned. But Jesus was adopted. This shows us a powerful message. God Himself was adopted into a human family. He knows what it means to be chosen and loved. Through Christ, God adopts us into His family. You are not born into God’s family by your own effort. You are brought into it. You are chosen, wanted, and loved by God. He looks at you and says you are His.
John 1:12 (KJV): “But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:”
Reflection: Do you truly live as someone who is chosen and loved by God, or do you still try to earn His approval? Write the words “Chosen” and “Loved” on a notecard and put it where you will see it today.
