The Danger of Assuming Jesus is With You

The Danger of Assuming Jesus is With You

It is surprisingly easy to move forward in life's journey while inadvertently leaving Jesus behind. We can become so busy with the demands of work, family, and daily responsibilities that we drift without noticing. This "supposing" faith assumes all is well without actively tending to our relationship with Christ. The moment of realization, like that of Mary and Joseph, often comes later, accompanied by anxiety and fear. The right response is always to stop and intentionally turn back to seek Him.

Luke 2:44b-45 (KJV): “And they sought him among their kinsfolk and acquaintance. And when they found him not, they turned back again to Jerusalem, seeking him.”

Reflection: Where in your current routine might you be operating on assumption rather than a conscious, daily awareness of walking with Jesus? What would it look like to "turn back" and intentionally seek Him in that area today?
