True repentance is a change of mind that leads to a change of direction

John’s message centered on a call to repent, which is far more than feeling sorry or offering a superficial confession. It is a fundamental turning away from sin and a whole-hearted turning toward God. This change of direction is the necessary response to the recognition of our sin. It is the pathway that leads to forgiveness and a restored relationship with God.

Luke 13:3 (KJV): “I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”

Reflection: Is there an area of your life where you have been confessing a sin but have not yet taken the practical steps to turn away from it? What would a change of direction look like for you in that specific area this week?

J.Vernon McGee = Book of Colossians :

nSalvation is NOT the improvement of the Old Nature. It is having a NEW Nature. Church folks have drawers full of notebooks & books on living a better life. They attend conferences, etc. - ever learning.  They have missed true salvation.
