Day 4: Christ Identifies With Us in Our Mess 4/16

Day 4: Christ Identifies With Us in Our Mess 4/16

Jesus, the sinless Son of God, willingly stepped into the line of sinners to be baptized. He did not remain at a distance from our brokenness and failure but entered fully into the human experience. His baptism was a picture of His ultimate mission: to take our place, bear our sin, and offer us His righteousness. This is the heart of the gospel; that He got into our line so that we could get into His.

2 Corinthians 5:21 (KJV): “ For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.”

Reflection: How does the truth that Jesus willingly entered into the full depth of our human condition change the way you approach Him with your own struggles and failures?
