Faithfulness in the Ordinary Prepares for God's Purpose
For most of His life, Jesus lived in obscurity, learning a trade and obeying His parents in a small town. These hidden years of ordinary faithfulness were a crucial part of God's preparation for His future ministry. Similarly, Joseph's faithful, quiet service in protecting and providing for his family played an invaluable role in God's story, though he never performed a public miracle. This reminds us that God often does His deepest work in seasons of preparation that feel small and unnoticed. A life of steady obedience in everyday responsibilities matters greatly to God.
Luke 2:51-52 (KJV): “And he went down with them, and came to Nazareth, and was subject unto them: but his mother kept all these sayings in her heart. And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and man.”
