The Captive’s Courageous Word 6/23

The Captive’s Courageous Word

Syrian soldiers raided Israel and took a young girl captive. They forced her to serve in Naaman’s house. She had every reason to be bitter. Instead, she looked at her master’s suffering and felt compassion. She told her mistress about a prophet in Samaria who could heal Naaman.

This captive girl became a missionary. She did not preach a long sermon. She simply pointed a hurting man toward the one who could help him. Her words started a chain reaction that reached the king. God often uses the most unexpected people to deliver His message of hope.

People in your life are watching your struggles. Your family sees your hidden leprosy. God can use anyone, even a child, to speak truth into your situation. Will you dismiss help because it comes from an unexpected place? Or will you humbly receive the word God sends? Who has God placed in your life to point you toward healing?

“And she said unto her mistress, Would God my lord were with the prophet that is in Samaria! for he would recover him of his leprosy.” (2 Kings 5:3, KJV)

Prayer: Thank God for the people who have pointed you toward Him, even when you did not want to listen.

Challenge: Identify one person who has spoken truth into your life and call or text them to say thank you.
