Correct Theology, No Surrender 7/1

 Correct Theology, No Surrender

The demon in the man knew exactly who Jesus was. He cried out, “Thou art the Holy One of God.” The demon had correct theology. He knew Jesus existed. He knew Jesus was the Holy One. But knowing facts about Jesus does not save anyone. The devil himself knows Jesus died and rose again, yet he is still lost.

Salvation requires more than information. It requires surrender. You can have all the right answers and still reject the Lordship of Christ. The demon recognized Christ but never submitted to Christ. His knowledge only made him tremble; it did not transform him.

Many of us know the right answers. We can recite Bible verses and doctrine. But head knowledge is not enough. Jesus demands the surrender of your heart and your will. Do you simply know about Jesus, or have you surrendered your life to Him?

“Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.” (James 2:19, KJV)

Prayer: Pray for the grace to move from merely knowing about Jesus to fully surrendering to Him.

Challenge: Write down one area of your life you have not yet surrendered to Christ’s authority.
