Be Muzzled and Come Out 7/2

 Be Muzzled and Come Out

The atmosphere in the synagogue changed instantly. A spiritual battle was raging. Every eye was fixed on Jesus. He did not panic or negotiate. He did not perform an elaborate ritual. Jesus simply spoke. He said, “Hold thy peace, and come out of him.” His words carried the ultimate authority of God.

The demon had to obey. He threw the man down but could not hurt him. The devil has power, but Jesus has all power. The devil is strong, but Jesus is stronger. When Jesus sets someone free, He does it completely. The fight was over because Jesus finished it.

You may feel thrown down by a struggle. Addiction, fear, or bitterness may have you in its grip. But the enemy cannot destroy you when you belong to Christ. Jesus speaks with the same authority today. What chain do you need to hear Jesus command to break?

“And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.” (Luke 4:35, KJV)

Prayer: Thank Jesus that His authority is greater than any power that comes against you.

Challenge: Name your greatest struggle aloud and say, “Jesus has authority over this.”
