The Open Prison Door 9/18

The Open Prison Door

You may feel like a prisoner to your past. You may see the face of someone you swore you would never become. You may be shackled in a cell you cannot open. You are Barabbas. The sentence is right. The debt is yours. The cross belongs to you. But the prison door is open. The chains can fall off. Jesus took your place.

The angry young man can be given a new heart. The addict can be set free. The gospel has not lost its power. Jesus still sets prisoners free. You do not have to stay in your cell. The price has been paid. The Savior is calling. You can repent of your sin and trust the One who took your place. You can walk free today.

Hear His question personally. What will you do with Jesus? Not your spouse or your parents. You. You can hear the gospel and walk away. You can try to wash your hands. Or you can call upon Jesus right where you are. Will you step out of the cell and into the freedom He purchased for you?

“If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

Prayer: Ask Jesus to set you free from one specific chain that binds you.

Challenge: Call or text someone and share your story of how Jesus set you free.
