Come As You Are
The leper came to Jesus unclean, desperate, and empty-handed. He brought no resume of good behavior. He did not negotiate for a partial healing. He came exactly as he was. He simply said, “You can if you will.” And Jesus responded with total grace.
We often compare our sins to others, thinking we are not that bad. We live in a leper colony comparing sores. But God does not grade uncleanness on a curve. The question is not if your sores look better than your neighbor’s. The question is, are you clean before a holy God? Apart from Jesus, the answer is no.
Stop trying to clean yourself up. Stop waiting until you feel good enough to come. Jesus is still in the business of making dirty people clean. He invites you to come as you are. He will meet you with the same compassion and power. What is holding you back from coming to Jesus exactly as you are today?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
Prayer: Thank Jesus that His blood cleanses you from all sin, making you completely new.
Challenge: Read the story in Luke 5:12-16 aloud to one other person this week.

The lesson this week has made me realize that Jesus already knows all our uncleanliness and failures. But We Must bring these things before Jesusi to acknowledge our wrong doings and ask for his forgiveness. and grace.
